Why is HIPS enabled when application control is not checked?
Application control is not enabled on the agent but users still receive HIPS pop-ups. Please don't tell me to enable Application Control and Disable all the components or just set HIPS to allow all.

i have also seen this behavior. we had other problems with EPS prior to us discovering this problem. It a long time to resolve the original problem we had with EPS. And, because of that experience and the discovery of yet of a new related problem, it was decided to drop using LD EPS in favor of McAfee Since we already own McAfee and there was a project underway to use that as an EPS solution, anyway.

We're aware. There's no way around it. Luckily in our case, the individuals in need are certified LD Admins. There's no threat of them doing something that will go undocumented or that they will be unable to revert.

The auto-switching behavior can be configured in the Client Connectivity Agent Settings on the "Cloud Services Appliance" page.
The auto-switching will only occur if the settings is configured to "Dynamically determine connection route". This is the default setting once you enable the CSA. The other two options allow you to specify a connection mode to improve performance if you have devices which will always/never be in direct contact with the core.

Remote Control on special systems
Hello,
I have one big problem with Remote Control on special systems OPS systems:
there is:
- windows 7 OS
- Java verze 1.6.0.45 64bit
- KEPServerEX
On this system is really very slow Remote Control + slow response.
Ports seems to be fine
Do you have any exp. or idea how to make some checks to analyze where should be problem or solve this issue?

How can I restart the installation of the windows patch which got failed after the system reboot in last attempt?
Hi All,
I have a scenario:-
I am deploying patch X through LANDesk on servers which require a reboot.
After reboot, unfortunately the patch installation got corrupted and Windows update is reverted back (post reboot the Windows Message) its changes automatically.
If I am running the Vulscan , Patch manager will not detect this patch again since the respective file (detection rule) version is above than the expected one .
However, if I am running Windows Update or Microsoft baseline security analyzer, both the mechanism will detect this patch as a missing one.
Suppose if I am doing a bulk deployment and 50 % of patches got failed after reboot.
How can we handle this type of scenario by using the LANDesk Patch Manager?

Reoccuring items blocked on startup
I've recently seen some startup items getting blocked at startup. LANDesk EPSUI asks me if I want to remove them or Ok them. I click apply and the window goes away until the next reboot.
I thought I saw something online about this but I can't seem to find it in any of the Community spaces. Has anyone else run in to this issue?

Re: Getting "No user logged onto the system, failed operation." Even when "Logged off user behavior" is set to continue.
Fixed it. Redeployed client then re-initiated install using "run from source" from the package server.

Hi,
Does the patch installation has to do more than just updating the Kerberos.dll? If not, it seems to be that Patch Manager is doing its work correctly by not detecting the vulnerability anymore. If the MS tools really check for installed updates instead of necessary updates seems to me like a bug on their side...

How do I write a blog post
So, I'm new in the LANDesk community. I'm trying to write a blog post for my own blog on how to solve a problem I encountered, and it's solution. I cant figure out how to publish, because it needs a "Place" to publish to. It almost sounds like I don't have permissions to do blog entries, in which case, why is that even an option for me to get there?

High CPU utilization from Anti-Virus
We are getting very high CPU Utilization out of the Anti-Virus when scanning to the point that workstations and servers become unresponsive. I have been watching the High CPU alert cycle through my VMware Cluster all morning as each kicks off a scan. The server I am watching right now is literally a matter of life and death and is running 89% CPU and web services are not available. Is there a way to throttle the anti-virus scan rate?
